Updates, How We Are Protecting Your UH Family, and How You Can Help

Weekly Skilled Nursing Update, Ogdensburg, for week of May 11th:

There are currently no cases of COVID-19 (residents or staff) at United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Ogdensburg. To date, there have been no confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 with residents of the facility, and one staff member that tested positive on April 13, 2020, has recovered and returned to work.

On May 10, 2020, Governor Cuomo announced that all nursing homes and assisted living facilities in New York will be required to test staff twice a week. United Helpers is currently seeking out supplies and laboratories with the capacity to process the volume needed to meet this mandate. Initial testing will begin on May 18 with supplies obtained from St. Lawrence County Public Health. Any positive tests will be communicated to all residents and family members and representatives within 24 hours or by 5:00pm the following day.

This week is also National Nursing Home Week. The staff at United Helpers are dedicated to protecting our residents. These are difficult times and our priority is the safety of everyone, while still maintaining connections with loved ones. We are happy to arrange virtual or window visits. Please contact Larry Worden, Activities Director, at (315) 393-0730 ext 2473, to schedule a visit.
