Weekly Skilled Nursing Canton/Assisted Living update for the week of June 5, 2020:

United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Canton has had no new residents or staff test positive. We continue with the twice-weekly testing for staff and will share any updates or extensions from the governor’s office. Any positive tests will be communicated to all residents, family members, and representatives within 24 hours or by 5:00 pm the following day.

During this Covid-19 situation, we have had some special luncheons and treats provided by family members of residents wanting to show their appreciation to our staff. It is not necessary to do so, but I wanted you to know that it definitely brightens the staff’s days and reminds them that there are people out in the community who are grateful for the work they do every day. THANK YOU! As I’ve said before, the staff at United Helpers are dedicated to supporting and protecting our residents every day, and especially right now.

We know that there have been some disruptions in window visits with lawn mowing, so I wanted to share our usual mowing schedule. Weather permitting, our lawns are mowed on Thursday mornings from 8 AM to noon. If the weather does not permit Thursdays, mowing will be pushed back to Fridays from 8 AM to noon. I hope this information will help to ensure your visits are peaceful and uninterrupted.

We still have no new guidance from the governor regarding reopening our facilities to visitation. As soon as we have any information, we will let you know. These are difficult times and our priority is the safety of everyone, while still maintaining connections with loved ones. We are happy to arrange virtual or window visits. Please contact Dawn Kimble, Activities Director, at (315) 386-4541 ext 3273, to schedule a visit.
