We continue to have no new residents or staff test positive since May 9, 2020. Our one resident and our medical provider are fully recovered.

Staff testing continues once per week with no positives at this time. We will continue to communicate any positive tests to all residents and family members and/or representatives within 24 hours or by 5:00pm the following day.

All other preventative measures, which include no visitation, staff screening for fever and respiratory symptoms, mask use by staff and residents, daily resident monitoring for symptoms, restricted group and dining activities, and social distancing, remain in place.

NYS DOH is issuing guidance in the coming days related to limited visitation for skilled nursing facilities and adult care facilities. Before visitation is allowed, specific criteria and plans must be in place to ensure safety for our Residents. Our team will be meeting Monday and Tuesday of next week to review the requirements, develop a plan, and communicate the timeline for operationalizing visitation. This is exciting news and we are committed to creating an optimal environment for our residents and families. The communication and visitation plan will be posted to the UH webpage by Wednesday, July 15th. In addition, our Residents and family members will be assisted in remaining compliant with the mandates required by the Department of Health. Thank you for your patience and cooperation through these trying times.

In the meantime, we continue to ask you to reach out to our Activities department to schedule an alternative means of connecting with loved ones. We continue to coordinate phone calls, video chats, emails, and window visits to maintain family and friend connections. We understand how difficult these restrictions are and want to accommodate to the best of our abilities.
