Updates, How We Are Protecting Your UH Family, and How You Can Help

Weekly Skilled Nursing, Canton/Assisted Living update for the week of February 19, 2021

United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Canton currently has no residents in the nursing home positive for Covid-19. There are two staff members quarantined in their homes for 14 days; one is a new positive added this week.

In the Assisted Living Program (ALP) there are currently no positive residents or staff.

Visitation remains suspended at this time.

Staff continues to be tested twice per week per the guidance from New York State. Any positive test results will be reported to residents and families within 24 hours. Resident testing will occur in response to any positive results.

Our three state-scheduled vaccine clinics were completed on 2/11/21. Both nursing home and ALP residents and staff participated. We are awaiting New York State direction on administering vaccines to new residents and staff or those who were unable to be vaccinated in-house previously.

Our in-house dentist will be in to see residents on February 23, 2021. We are in the process of coordinating dates for the eye doctor as well.

Again, we thank you all for your patience during this time. Many families are asking if their loved ones will continue to be quarantined post-vaccination. As of this date, New York State has offered no new guidance related to changes in processes after receiving the vaccines. We will, of course, keep you updated on any new information as we receive it. Stay safe.
