Updates, How We Are Protecting Your UH Family, and How You Can Help

Weekly Skilled Nursing, Canton/Assisted Living Program update for the week of April 2, 2021

United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Canton currently has no positive Covid-19.  The Assisted Living Program (ALP) has one staff member who tested positive on 3/30/21, so visitation in the ALP, upstairs, is suspended until at least April 12, 2021.  All residents who reside upstairs are also quarantined due to possible exposure.

Staff continues to be tested twice weekly per the guidance from New York State.  Any positive test results will be reported to residents and families within 24 hours.

We have made progress in reopening our campus with new guidance from the Department of Health that came out late last week.  It has been wonderful to see family members in our buildings again, and we thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue forward.  The beauty shop will be opening next week, and we will again be scheduling the dentist and eye doctor for visits.  Please contact your social worker if you have any questions.

Our administrator, Kim Blair, is retiring and will be turning day-to-day operations over to Tim Parsons on April 5, 2021.  Tim has been the administrator at the United Helpers Ogdensburg facility and is looking forward to transitioning to Canton.  We welcome Tim and look forward to working with him in Canton.

Thank you again for your support and patience through the challenges of Covid over the past year.  Our staff has done an amazing job taking care of our residents and keeping them comfortable.   We look forward to seeing all of you soon.
