We are seeking a cook to work at United Helpers Rehabilitation and Senior Care in Canton.
Responsibilities include following standard recipes and menus, making judgments relative to type of meal to be served and method of preparations, and relaying information back to the Dietetic Technician, Registered Dietitian, or Food Service Manager as soon as they are on duty.
Other tasks may include preparing food for cooking, peeling, washing, trimming, and cutting vegetables and fruit; washing, cutting, and trimming meat, fish and poultry, and if necessary, cuts them into individual portions.
He or she will need to operate electric and steam cooking equipment and dishwashers; clean equipment and pots and pans after use, initiate repairs as needed, maintain proper sanitation and health procedures at all times, as well as record cooler/freezer temperatures.
Cooks sometimes must assists or fills-in for food service attendants.
Applicants must have the ability to plan cooking schedules to for the highest quality meals possible, which are ready on time, and hot for serving. This includes batch cooking.
