United Helpers, founded in 1898, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our behavioral health clinics in Canton and Ogdensburg. Applicants must have the skills, compassion and commitment to deliver high-quality services to people in northern New York.
Responsibilities will include the application of principles for safely administering and documenting medication and/or treatments, good judgment in determining the use and effectiveness of PRN medications, and documentation of nursing interventions provided, program member response to interventions, client needs, problems, capabilities, limitations, and outcomes.
Applicants must have knowledge of common uses, interactions, side effects and contraindications of all drugs administered, collect and document the client’s current health status and medical history, perform ongoing observation and recommend changes to the patient’s plan of service.He or she must also take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) without direct supervision that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless client’s care, consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner, and assist in the orientation/training of new team members.
