About The Area

Riverwood IRA is located in Ogdensburg, NY, home to just over 11,000 people. Riverwood IRA is established in a quiet and rural setting off of HWY 37, on a dead-end road with minimal traffic and a lot of wildlife. City-center is just a short drive, offering a library, post office, restaurants, and shops.

The Property

Riverwood IRA is a five-bedroom home in which five females reside at. This IRA includes a spacious kitchen and dining area, perfect for cooking, crafts, and card/board games. The living room offers plenty of seating and a television, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the home, along with cable hook ups in private bedrooms. The property features a handicapped accessible deck, along with a large backyard that contains a gazebo.

The Atmosphere

All ladies in this home are relatively “low key” and enjoy the little things, such as assisting with meal preparation, watching TV, and relaxing in the gazebo. This is a fairly independent home, and all program members assist with their own household chores, personal care, and laundry, receiving encouragement and supports from the staff. Program members at Riverwood IRA enjoy community activities such visiting local farmers’ markets, fairs, concerts, overnight adventures, and comedy clubs. They also enjoy going out for ice cream, food, shopping, and doing the mail run. Program members also participate in activities within the home such as craft projects, baking, making gifts for family and petting/caring for their cat, Leonard. Leonard was rescued from the SPCA and has become an important part of the ladies’ lives.
